Stephen J. Garth joined Dimensional's Sydney office in 2001, where he is a portfolio manager in international equities. Before joining Dimensional, he was on the faculty at the Australian National University, where his teaching and research interests were in optical fiber technology and quantitative finance.

Steve received his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the Australian National University in 1987. He also holds a B.S. in mathematics and physics, a B.A. in history and politics, and a Graduate Diploma in business administration.
