Stephen J. Garth has responsibility for Dimensional's equity trading desk for the Asia Pacific region. His focus is making sure the firm's execution strategy and technological infrastructure is cutting edge in the local region. In addition, he has responsibility for managing Dimensional's Australian fixed income strategies.
Steve joined Dimensional's Sydney office in 2001 as a portfolio manager in international equities and fixed income. Before joining Dimensional he was on the faculty at the University of New South Wales, where his teaching and research interests were in optical fiber technology and quantitative finance.
Steve received his PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Australian National University in 1987. He also holds a BSc (majors in Mathematics and Physics), BA (majors in History and Politics), a Masters in Applied Finance (M.App.Fin), and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.
