Privacy
This Privacy Policy relates to individuals who:
(a)have accounts with DFA Australia Ltd's funds directly (not through an institutional, wrap service or master fund account); or

(b) use DFA Australia Ltd's web-based "Find An Advisor" independent financial advisor referral service (a service we provide to prospective investors who wish to engage a financial advisor for advice on investing in DFA Australia Ltd's funds, either directly or indirectly through a wrap service or master fund account).

Naturally, we strive to protect the confidentiality of information maintained for all accounts, including institutional, wrap service and master fund accounts, but (other than personal data which may be provided to us through our Find An Advisor service) we do not have access to personal data for individuals who invest through such accounts.

For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, except where the context otherwise requires, a reference to a client includes an individual who uses our Find An Advisor service.
Commitment to Privacy
We consider client privacy to be fundamental to our relationship with our clients. Since we were founded, we have been committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and security of clients' personal information entrusted to us. To that end, in Australia we are bound by the National Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 1988. Internal policies have been developed to protect the confidentiality of your personal information, while allowing client needs to be served.

In the course of providing products and services, we collect non-public personal information about clients. We collect this information only where you have consented to the collection or where you would reasonably expect us to collect it in the provision of our services, from sources such as account applications and other forms of information captured on our website (including both information you deliberately provide, for example through completing a form or requesting a service such as our Find An Advisor service, and any session information captured through the use of "cookies"). The information which we collect is used in the provision of our services to you, and a refusal to provide us with this information may mean that we are unable to provide our full services to you. For example: you may choose to disable "cookies" through settings on your internet browser. If you do so, you may not be able to automatically log on to our website.

We do not disclose any non-public personal information about clients or former clients to non-affiliated parties, except as directed by clients, as necessary in order to service a client account, provide another service or as required by law.

In the case of individuals who have accounts with our funds directly, your information is used by us and may be disclosed to third parties to complete transactions or account changes that you request or authorise. In the normal course of serving these clients, information we collect may be shared with companies that perform various services for us, such as unit registry organisations, custodians, proxy solicitation firms, or printers or mailers that may assist us in the distribution of investor materials. We may send your personal information overseas to Dimensional Fund Advisors, our parent company, as you would reasonably expect for establishing and processing your account. Any organisation that receives client information receives only the information necessary to carry out their assigned responsibilities and is authorised to use that information only for the services required, and is not permitted to share or use this information for any other purpose. It is necessary for us to provide this information to these organisations in order for us to provide the services you request. We will also disclose your personal information where it is necessary to provide our services to you in the manner requested, for example, to your nominated financial adviser.

In the case of individuals who use our Find An Advisor service, your information will be used by us only for the limited purpose of generating a list of qualifying independent financial advisors and will not be disclosed to any third parties other than as required by law.

In the case of all individuals who provide personal information to us, we may disclose or report that personal information in limited circumstances where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example, to cooperate with regulators or law enforcement authorities, such as responding to a subpoena or other legal process, or to protect accounts from fraud), or to resolve client disputes.
We do not sell client information—whether it is your personal information or the fact that you are a Dimensional client—to anyone.
