Dimensional was founded in the US in 1981 to provide institutional investors access to small company stocks, underrepresented in most portfolios. As financial science has identified new sources of risk, the firm has added strategies to its repertoire. Today, that repertoire spans all major asset classes including domestic and global equities as well as fixed interest. All along, our strategies have maintained an institutional focus: To reliably deliver specific risk exposures at a low cost and to increase returns through advanced portfolio design and trading.

This empirical approach has led Dimensional to become an investment adviser to hundreds of institutions in the US. In Australia, we manage a variety of strategies appropriate for institutional investors. These include a range of domestic and global strategies covering core, small cap, value, and emerging market strategies.

Dimensional works closely with institutional investors to assist them in understanding the relevance and applicability of Dimensional strategies in their investment objectives. DFA Australia has a full team in place to provide services to local institutional clients led by Regional Director Mark Yetman. The Sydney office also works closely with regional directors in the US, Canada, and the UK.
